Golden Hour (n)

A period shortly after sunrise or before sunset during which daylight is redder and softer than when the Sun is higher in the sky.

If you’re a golden-hour hunter, Kebun Buah Mangunan will be a good idea to get sunrise moment. It’s one of the most favorite sites in Yogyakarta to see the sunrise, so no wonder if you arrive at 6 AM, there has been a lot of people there. So I recommend you to be there around 5 AM, so you won’t miss even a thing.

Kebun Buah Mangunan is located in Dlingo, Bantul, approximately an hour from Jogja by driving. It’s about ten minutes away from Imogiri Pine Forest. The retribution fee per person is 5000 rupiahs, quite cheap, isn’t it? But if you plan to go there by motorcycles, make sure that your motorcycle is in good condition since you have to go down the steep driveaway—sorry I’m not really sure where the car park is.

After you’ve parked your vehicle, you need to go down the stairs, it won’t be that tiring at first, but when you go back, climb up the stairs will leave you breathless (lol). As the photo above, there will be beautiful scenery in front of you, Imogiri River and the hills. I find it wonderful, they look like a painting, however.

One thing I should warn you is don’t jump over the fence. It’s really dangerous since that place is actually a cliff. Don’t do careless things for the sake of taking photos. Stay safe and have fun!
